ABOUT US
Welcome to Mansfield Chiropractic Centre
Conveniently located in Mansfield, amongst Victoria’s amazing high country, Mansfield Chiropractic Centre is led by Dr Toby Fraser, who has been serving the region since purchasing the Benalla Chiropractic Centre in December 2007. After originally operating from Cecily Court, the clinic relocated to larger, purpose-designed premises to better support patient care and comfort.
Today, Mansfield Chiropractic Centre provides safe, gentle and highly specific chiropractic care for infants, children, adults and seniors.
We work collaboratively with other healthcare providers throughout the region. If your presentation falls outside the scope of chiropractic care, we will confidently refer you to an appropriate allied health or medical professional to ensure you receive the right support.
Dr. Toby Fraser
Dr Toby Fraser’s introduction to chiropractic came at age 14 when his father, a butcher, sustained a serious back injury. After seeking chiropractic care, the improvement was remarkable — an experience that sparked Toby’s determination to pursue chiropractic as a profession.
Through extensive reading and conversations with various practitioners, Toby met Dr Max Joseph, who had trained directly under Dr Clarence Gonstead. Under Dr Max’s mentorship, Toby gained a deep understanding of the relationship between the spine, the nervous system and overall body function. This connection — both logical and profound — shaped his professional focus and lifelong dedication to the Gonstead system.
Toby was particularly inspired by clinical cases demonstrating improvements beyond back pain, reinforcing his belief in the importance of spinal health in whole-body function.
The first chiropractic patient, Harvey Lillard, famously experienced restored hearing following an adjustment by Daniel Palmer, a practitioner aligned with Gonstead principles. Stories such as these further strengthened Toby’s commitment to mastering this method.
While completing his five-year double degree at RMIT — Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical) and Bachelor of Chiropractic Science (2005) — Toby pursued extensive additional Gonstead seminars and postgraduate training to refine his expertise.
He began practice in Swanson Street, Melbourne, while working one day per week in Benalla. Drawn to regional practice and the community, Toby purchased the Benalla clinic in 2007 and has proudly served North East Victoria ever since.
Married to Kelly (who’s grandfather, Jack Lemin was a local log carter in the 60’s and 70’s!) and father to three daughters — Poppy, Willow and Goldie — Toby is committed to the region and its families.
A respected and ethical practitioner, Dr Toby Fraser has built a strong referral-based practice centred on measurable patient outcomes.
He remains dedicated to delivering the highest standard of chiropractic care by practising exclusively within the Gonstead framework — a method known for its detailed diagnostic process, precise manual adjustments and efficient results.
Toby holds:
- Advanced Certification in Gonstead Extremity Adjusting
- Postgraduate qualification in Chiropractic Paediatric Management (several hundred hours of additional study)
- Former Secretary of the Gonstead Chiropractic Society (2015-2019)
- Current President of the Gonstead Chiropractic Society (since 2019)
- Ambassador Certification (2024)
- Diplomate Certification (2025)
Toby actively contributes to the profession, mentoring and supporting the next generation of Gonstead chiropractors across Australia.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys cars, motorbikes and exploring Australia with his family. Toby is getting very close to completing the restoration of Jack Lemin’s 1963 Ford F700 log truck, a well known truck in Mansfield back in the day, carting logs from Tolmie, Mt Buller, Howqua and surrounding areas.

Gonstead Chiropractic in Fiji
In 2023, Toby joined a group of Gonstead chiropractors who made their own way to Fiji and volunteered their time to provide chiropractic care to the people of Vanua Levu. It was an amazing experience, the people were so appreciative of the care they received. Dr Toby saw some very interesting spinal problems, some of which you rarely get to see in Australia!
